Independent
by nature.
Stejong is an independent creative audio studio based in Hilversum, NL.
Good questions.
Clear answers.
A few of the things clients usually want to know before a project begins.
01What does Stejong Studio do?
Stejong Studio creates sonic identities, radio imaging and branded audio for stations, media brands and other organisations that need a distinctive sound. Projects can include sonic logos, original themes, station IDs, Top of the Hour elements, news, weather and traffic imaging, beds, drones, stingers, show elements and adaptations of existing productions.
02What is sonic branding?
Sonic branding is the deliberate use of sound and music to make a brand recognisable. It can be as compact as a sonic logo or extend into a broader musical system that works across different moments, formats and platforms. At Stejong, the aim is not simply to create something that sounds good, but to build a coherent sonic identity that fits the brand, audience and context.
03What is the difference between sonic branding and radio imaging?
Sonic branding defines the broader musical identity of a brand. Radio imaging applies that identity to the practical building blocks of radio: station IDs, ramps, shots, rapid IDs, Top of the Hour pieces, beds, news elements and other on-air formats. A project can involve either discipline separately, or combine both into one consistent sound system.
04Do you use AI in production?
Stejong uses AI-assisted production where it genuinely contributes to the result, alongside conventional composition, production, editing and performance workflows. Human vocalists and remote session musicians can be brought in when their performance adds real musical value. The composition, creative direction, selection, editing, mix and final result remain under Stejong's creative control.
05How much does a sonic branding or radio imaging project cost?
Stejong works primarily with custom quotations rather than fixed public packages. Price depends on factors such as the number of original compositions, project scope, complexity, service level, external talent, timing, usage, requested rights and exclusivity. Two projects with a similar number of deliverables can therefore still require different levels of production and investment.
06How are revisions handled?
Feedback is organised in clear stages. Once a creative phase has been approved, that direction can be locked so production can move forward efficiently. Normal refinements remain part of the agreed revision process, while a later fundamental change to an approved direction may be treated as a scope change. Important decisions and revisions are documented so the project stays aligned as it develops.
07Who owns the music?
Ownership, usage, exclusivity, portfolio use and resing rights are agreed explicitly for each project. They are not assumed automatically. The quotation or contract is the formal source of truth, with the practical rights arrangement summarised in the project briefing so everyone knows what has been agreed.
08Do I need to know exactly what I need before contacting you?
No. A clear objective is more useful than a perfectly specified list of deliverables. Stejong can help translate the brand, format, audience and creative ambition into an appropriate sonic system and production scope. The discovery process is designed to establish those decisions before full production begins.
